As part of the QEII New Generation Project, construction is now underway in the diagnostic imaging (x-ray, ultrasound, MRI, CT-scan) department of the Halifax Infirmary. This department is located on the third floor. Construction will begin on the fifth floor (surgical services) in winter 2019.

These renovations will add two imaging rooms (interventional radiology suites) to the third floor to make way for later construction on the hospital’s fifth floor to build the first hybrid operating room in Atlantic Canada.

Plan to need extra time to arrive at your appointment. You also may experience higher than normal noise levels or other construction disruptions during your visit.

You can find a map of the buildings at the QE2 here.
