A thought-provoking education campaign called Weed Myths launched Monday by the Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia and Nova Scotia Early Psychosis Program aims to shed much-needed light on misconceptions surrounding marijuana use.
As of Nov. 1, 2016, Nova Scotians who do not have access to a family practice, such as a family doctor or nurse practitioner, can call 811 Monday to Friday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., or visit needafamilypractice.ca to be added to a provincial wait list.

That was the theme of the 2016 Canadian Patient Safety Week, which ran Oct. 24 through Oct. 28 across the country, including throughout Nova Scotia Health Authority.
For Dr. Patrick McGrath, the big reward is helping other people. Nevertheless, the vice-president of research, innovation and knowledge translation for both Nova Scotia Health Authority and the IWK Health Centre, has been honoured with an array of major awards for his passion and vision, including most recently the Legacy of Leadership award.
