In 2018, 13 community groups in the Victoria County received funding from Nova Scotia Health Authority (NSHA) and the Department of Health and Wellness (DHW) for projects that support local health care priorities.
A project to pave the parking lot at Hants Community Hospital and Haliburton Place continues with Phase 3 starting Tuesday, July 16. During this phase, there will be no access to the hospital’s emergency department entrance. Emergency department traffic, including Emergency Health Services, will be rerouted to the front entrance of the facility.
Nova Scotia Health Authority (NSHA) has renewed its strategic plan, Healthier Together. The plan will continue to guide NSHA’s actions and decisions over the next three years (2019-2022), providing direction on priorities and allocation of resources as we work to achieve our vision of healthy people, healthy communities – for generations.

As you know the CEO Search Advisory Committee has been working with an executive search firm to identify candidates for the role of CEO to lead the NSHA when Janet Knox retires. This work continues and I am pleased to report that we have had very positive interest in the role.
