The Emergency Department at the Glace Bay Hospital will be closed on Saturday, June 16 at 5 a.m. It reopens on Monday, June 18 at 7 a.m. The department will also be closed Monday, June 18 at 4 p.m.; reopening on Tuesday, June 19 at 7 a.m.
Nova Scotia Health Authority (NSHA) is committed to engaging Nova Scotians in establishing priorities and making decisions that matter to them and affect them. Guided by this commitment, NSHA is recruiting five new members for its 12-member Patient Family and Public Advisory Council.
Visitor restrictions are currently in place on the alternative level of care and restorative care units at Fishermen’s Memorial Hospital. These restrictions have been put in place to help limit the spread of a gastrointestinal illness among patients on these units.
Access to the parking lot and ambulance entrance at Victoria County Memorial Hospital (VCMH) in Baddeck will be limited on Thursday, June 14 to allow for the arrival and installation of a new chiller unit for the hospital. Work is expected to start around 5:30 a.m. and wrap up around 9:30 a.m. While work is underway, parking will be limited on site. People are asked to park offsite or arrange for drop-off and pick-up. They are also asked to use caution on roadways near the hospital or as they enter and exit the building.
